Apprenticeship news...

We are delighted to share that our first two cohorts of Structural Waterproofing apprentices have completed their apprenticeship this week. This has been somewhat challenging due to the interruption of a global pandemic and we would like to take this opportunity to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to each apprentice. We wish you all the best for a successful future. We are also delighted to share that the Property Care Association will be continuing its apprenticeship journey as we welcome a new apprentice to the training team in the next couple of weeks! We wholeheartedly believe in the apprenticeship ethos and as we face a skills shortage, we are proud to be in a position to support the career path of an apprentice once again. We will introduce our new apprentice to you soon, but for now, you can find out how an apprenticeship could work for your team by clicking on the button below...

Architect Fined

Earlier this year, the case of Hart v Large grabbed the headlines and it was a sobering reminder of the duty we owe and the potential cost of failure. Recently, a new case has hit the headlines and an architect has been found guilty of serious professional incompetence, and later fined. This was after the discovery of extensive dry rot within a renovated farmhouse which he had signed off six years ago, failing to check whether necessary condition reports - on damp proofing & timber decay - had been obtained for the building. We appreciate that this was not a PCA member, but as always, we urge all to remain vigilant and continue to follow industry best practice.
