Possibly, the Mouldiest Christmas on Record!

Do we have cause for concern? With many under a Covid lockdown, is it simply inevitable as we hit winter and the run up to Christmas, the result will be mould, condensation and poor air quality in many homes?

Is the ripple effect of many having to stay at home ‘possibly’ making many unhealthy in non-Covid ways? Should the Government be starting a campaign of public information to highlight the need to maintain a healthy home environment? Steve Hodgson shares his view in the latest ‘Hodgson View’. Scottish Level 4 COVID Restrictions Now Started

For all our Scottish PCA members working in areas within Central and West of Scotland, many areas as of 6pm yesterday (Friday 20th) are under Scottish Level 4 Covid Restrictions. This means if you are a PCA member living and working in these areas, you can no longer work in peoples homes unless the work that you are carrying out is essential work and maintenance that would otherwise threaten the household’s health and safety.

We appreciate that for our PCA members within these areas, it’s another terrible impact on your business. We just want to let you know (and for all our PCA members out there too) your Association is here to help if we can…even if it is just for a simple chat via the phone.

To find out more about the Scottish level 4 restrictions and what you can, and cannot do, click on the button below.

PCA Awards Update

As many of our members are aware, we have not been able to hold any of our Annual Conferences or our Best Practice Awards this year, which has been a great disappointment to both members and the Association. However, this year it is important that we announce the winners of the following annual awards:

  • Students of the Year Award
  • Contractors of the Year Award

As limited as we have been in terms of celebrating the great achievements of our members for the past 12 months due to COVID, we are delighted to present these awards during such challenging times.

Look out for news regarding the winners coming soon…

Something to Consider – Hosting an Online Xmas Party

With a Covid vaccine arriving too late for any kind of office parties, is it a case we simply abandon the typical annual office Christmas get together?

It might not be the same as a ‘proper’ get together, but for PCA members looking to try and get some sort of ‘festive cheer’, spare a thought for the ideas posted in this recent BBC new post on ‘How to host a Christmas party on Zoom’. You might just pick up on a few ideas to bring your teams together!
