Wishing you all a safe and happy Christmas
As we near the end of 2020 and following a few blogs from the team as we reflect on how some of our sectors have fared, it is safe to say we have certainly endured one of the hardest years on record – both financially and mentally.
We have all felt the challenges that 2020 has thrown at us but as always, have remained focused on working with and for you, our members. As we take a break over the festive period and close the office from 5pm Friday 18th December until Monday 4th January 2021, we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you and to wish you all a very safe and happy Christmas.
We look forward to seeing you in a, hopefully, less socially distanced and prosperous 2021.

We understand damp, don’t we?
If the process of evaluating, interpreting and correcting moisture imbalance becomes automated, it will open up a world of possibility. And as we use new and emerging technologies to create healthy, safe living conditions, ‘can we, or should we, be insisting that landlords and vendors supply purchasers and tenants with moisture safety certificates? If legislation exists for gas, fire and electrical safety, then why not for damp?’

Green Homes Grant Scheme – Make sure you’re up to date
The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has updated guidance for installers on the Green Homes Grant application process. For those members who may have missed it, please click on the button below.
We will of course continue to share any updates to the Green Homes Grant Scheme, but in the meantime, members can check out our Information Hub and the TrustMark website.

Securing our Apprenticeship until 2022!
We are pleased to share with members that CITB has granted an extension to our apprenticeship offering, enabling us to continue with our Specialist Apprenticeship Programme until March 2022. As we strive to provide steps to a career within these specialist sectors, this ensures that you, our members, have the opportunity to book onto these fundamental programmes. The next intake dates are as follows:
Damp & Timber Apprenticeship Programme: 15th-18th March 2021
Structural Waterproofing Apprenticeship Programme: 8th-11th February 2021

HSE Survey into the Impact of Covid-19
There is no denying that Covid-19 has greatly increased the risks of work-related stress and mental health. To understand this impact further, the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) has developed two short surveys – one for workers and one for the employer (or people that represent the business or organisation).
